Global Action Week 2010
Global Action Week is an annual, international campaign to raise awareness and call upon governments around the world to keep their promises and provide Education for All. Each April, CGCE and other members of the Global Campaign for Education around the world are joined by millions of students, teachers and other activists to take part in a simple, but powerful public action.

Global Action Week 2010: Financing for Education
Global Action Week will take place April 19 - 25, 2010. The theme will be Financing for Education, and we'll on calling upon Northern donors and Southern governments to provide the money needed to pay for teachers, books, classrooms and other essential components of learning.
The action for this year’s campaign will be 1GOAL: Lesson for All on April 20, 2010. As well as having a fun event on this important issue, we hope to make history by setting a new World Record for the biggest ever simultaneous lesson. Having a joint, international action like the world’s largest lesson is a fun way for campaigners to link in to an international movement. By joining our voices, we can put collective pressure on governments to make sure they keep their promises to Education for All.
1GOAL: Lesson for All will be the kick-off to GCE’s 1GOAL campaign. In 2010 the FIFA World Cup will take place in Africa. With this unprecedented global attention to Africa, GCE plans to embark on a huge global campaign that will use this historic moment to raise unprecedented public awareness and action globally to achieve the Education for All goals.
