International Women's Day
Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 3:18PM It is 2012, and 1 in 4 women around the world still cannot read this sentence. And despite huge gains in gender parity made over the last 12 years, in 47 out of 54 African countries, girls have a less than 50% chance of going to secondary school. We know that educating girls has huge positive repercussions for health, agriculture and economic sustainability, yet we continue to fail millions of girls around the world by not securing their right to an education. We can do better. We must do better.
